Beekeeping Lessons at Paradise Nectar Apiaries Hands-On Learning in Sustainable Beekeeping Located in Mountain View, Hawaiʻi Join us for an unforgettable experience with the bees in the lush rainforest of the Big Island! Our beekeeping lessons are led by Jen Rasmussen Lair, founder of Paradise Nectar Apiaries and a bee guardian since 2008. Paradise Nectar is a local pioneer in treatment-free, organic beekeeping, offering education rooted in respect for bees, nature, and regenerative practices. What You’ll Learn: ~Honeybee biology & behavior ~The role of bees in local ecosystems ~Treatment-free hive management ~Natural methods for hive health & swarm care ~Hands-on time with live hives (weather permitting) About Your Instructor: Jen Rasmussen Lair has been teaching since 2010 at institutions including: ~University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo ~Hawaiʻi Academy of Arts & Science ~Kua O Ka Lā ~Kalanianaʻole School ~Local farms, schools, and community workshops ~Paradise Nectar Apiaries With deep experience in both education and apiculture, Jen makes beekeeping approachable, inspiring, and fun for all ages. Cancellation Policy

📅 Booking Policy Lessons are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment of $50 per person is required to reserve your spot. Bookings may be made online (if applicable), via email at jen@paradisenectar.com, or in person at one of our events. Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation email with details, directions, and a required liability release form. 🔁 Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy Cancellations made at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance are eligible for a full refund or reschedule (based on availability). Cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance are non-refundable due to limited group sizes and preparation costs. No-shows or same-day cancellations are non-refundable. In the event of severe weather or instructor emergency, lessons will be rescheduled at no additional cost to participants, or a refund will be issued if a reschedule date is not available. 📝 Waitlist Policy If a class is full, you may request to be added to the waitlist by emailing jen@paradisenectar.com with your name, contact info, and preferred dates. If a spot opens up, we will contact people on the waitlist in the order received. Waitlisted participants are not charged unless they accept and confirm a booking.
