Jen Rasmussen Lair is the founder of Paradise Nectar Apiaries and Island Organic Cuisine, where she combines her passion for bees, food, and sustainable living. With more than 15 years of hands-on experience in treatment-free, organic beekeeping, Jen has taught workshops, retreats, and courses for students of all ages, from local schools to the University of Hawai‘i.

Her teaching blends practical skills with intuitive awareness, helping students connect deeply with nature while mastering sustainable techniques. Jen’s journey includes relocating nearly 70 hives during the 2018 Kīlauea eruption, rebuilding her sanctuary, and transforming challenges such as herbicide contamination into opportunities for community education and regenerative practices.

She also owns Island Organic Cuisine, creating farm-to-table meals, cooking classes, and honey-based products that reflect her dedication to health and sustainability.

As an instructor, Jen is committed to empowering others with the knowledge, confidence, and inspiration to live in harmony with bees, land, and food.
